Frequently Asked Questions

Who can sign up for supplies? — Anyone who truly needs them. The WCSSD board determines final eligibility, but our goal is to assist those who have financial or other issues that keep them from affording school supplies.

When and where can I sign up to get supplies? — Applications are available on the main page of our website, as well as in-person at Agape Mission and Mary Martha Outreach. Please check our main page for the dates and times signup forms will be available. Forms must be turned in by the deadline shown on the main page. If you do in-person applications, you will receive a stamped cover letter that tells you the details of pick up day. If you apply online you will receive an email response stating your application was approved and information about pick up day.

Where and when do I pick up my supplies? — Check the main page for exact timing. Supplies will be available for pickup at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church a few days before school starts. Supplies are assigned to students before pickup day, and are given out Sunday afternoon and all day Monday. To avoid waiting, come in the mid-afternoon.

What should I bring with me when I pick my supplies? — You must bring a photo ID.  Additionally, it’s strongly recommended that you bring the cover letter that was stamped when you turned in your application form, just in case your application got misplaced.  

What if I can’t pick up my supplies on the pickup day? — On the application, you may specify who may pick up your supplies in your place. That person must bring a photo ID to pick up the supplies. Any supplies not picked up during pick up days will go to Agape Mission and be held for a few days. Afterwards, the supplies are returned to storage.  

What happens if I miss the deadline to turn in my application form? — If you are unable to turn in an application before the deadline, please come to St. Luke’s on the days that we are distributing backpacks.  You will need to fill out an application at that time and we will provide, as our supplies allow, a generic set of supplies, based on grade level.
